The certificates offered in food processing are for AQF qualification levels 1, 2 and 3.
The individual levels are comprised of various combinations of core, specialist and optional units. - Core units are common to the Food Industry, they cover areas such as communication, quality, occupational health and safety (OH&S) and food safety.
- Optional and Specialist units are specific to an operation or type of industry.
The following is a breakdown of the number and types of units that must be achieved for each qualification.
Note: the following information relates to the superceded training package (FDF98). We are currently updating this information to reflect the new packaging rules.
CERTIFICATE I (AQF Level 1) - Core units 5
- Optional and Specialist units 3 (providing at least 1 unit is from the specialist group)
Total number of units required: 8 units
CERTIFICATE II (AQF Level 2) - Core units 4
- Optional and Specialist units 5 (providing at least 1 unit is from the specialist group)
Total number of units required: 9 units
CERTIFICATE III (AQF Level 3) - Core units 4
- Optional and Specialist units 4 (providing at least 1 unit is from the specialist group)
Total number of units required: 8 units
