How do I achieve a qualification?

Whole qualifications are made up of a particular type and number of units and are issued as above. All participants who successfully complete any units in the above qualifications will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from the relevant qualification.

After the training has been completed, the participant undergoes assessment. To successfully complete a unit or qualification, both of these must be carried out.

Assessment must consist of at least two (2) assessment activities. Assessment activities may include:

  • oral questioning
  • written (short answer or multiple choice questions in a workbook)
  • simulated or actual workplace activities
  • observation
  • role play
  • self / peer / supervisor assessment reports
Completed units can be added on to at any time and anywhere in Australia through another RTO or TAFE, this is known as mutual recognition.

The make up of each qualification and more information on the AQF levels can be found below. Specific information regarding Training Package units can be found at the National Training Information Service (NTIS).
