Accredited Training

What is ‘accredited training’?

Rutherford Technical Services is an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) providing accredited training and assessment services. Accredited training means that Rutherford training programs:

  • have been aligned (or mapped) to accredited ‘units of competency’ from a nationally endorsed ‘Training Package’

  • involve at least 2 types of formal assessment of skills and knowledge (written workbook, verbal questions, observation, etc.) after the training

  • entitles the participant to receive an endorsed certificate or Statement of Attainment or a full Qualification stating the units achieved, with the nationally recognised training logos

Accredited certificates or ‘qualifications’ can only be issued by a RTO (Registered Training Organisation) or TAFE.

What qualifications are available?

Qualifications offered by Rutherford Technical Services:

  • Certificate II in Health Support Services

  • Certificate III in Health Support Services

  • Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations)

  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Catering Operations)

  • Certificate I in Food Processing

  • Certificate II in Food Processing

  • Certificate III in Food Processing

  • Certificate III in Frontline Management

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management

  • Diploma of Management

These qualifications are nationally recognised and provide staff with formal recognition of the skills and knowledge they already have, and provides an opportunity to further develop these within the AQF (Australian Quality Framework) structure.

The VET (Vocational Education & Training) sector can be confusing at first, so don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.

It depends on what full qualification or ‘Certificate’ is undertaken, but a person will be required to complete up to 12 or more individual units to be able to receive a full qualification.

However Rutherford simplifies this process by looking at what tasks are currently carried out in the workplace and also groups or ‘clusters’ individual units together, to streamline the training process and to maintain momentum.

Individual units achieved in any of the Rutherford training programs can be used towards a full qualification, as all RTO's and TAFE must recognise or RPL any prior education.

An overview of the different requirements for each qualification Level (I, II, III, IV, etc.), or the AQF (Australian Quality Framework) can be found below.

Specific information regarding Training Package units can be found at the National Training Information Service (NTIS). website
