CODE OF PRACTICE
This Code of Practice is made available to all staff and clients of Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd. It contains certain policies and information that describe how the business operates. A copy of this code of practice, along with participant and trainers guides can be found provided on request.
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd provides consistent high quality service in its delivery of Training and Assessment. This is achieved by a scope of registration that is commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the trainers and assessors employed or contracted by Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd.
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd undertakes to deliver training and assessment using accredited Training Packages that are a part of the National Training Framework and issue qualifications that are within its scope and the AQF (Australian Qualification Framework). The Training Package or units thereof will be delivered by suitably qualified and experienced Trainer/Assessors. It is the Technical Managers responsibility to ensure that the training and assessment programs meet all AQTF and VETAB requirements and guidelines including the National Assessment Principles. Further information on Training and Assessment can be found in the Participant, Employer or Trainer/Assessor Guides supplied in conjunction with this Code of Practice.

Rutherford Technical Services uses mutual recognition of qualifications issued by other RTOs, providing they are relevant and meet all the requirements (AQF, Training Package etc).
LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
All employees, contractors, clients and participants have access to relevant legislative and regulatory information. It is a requirement that all new personnel that provide training and assessment services familiarise themselves with this information.

ACCESS & EQUITY
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd incorporates access and equity principles in all aspects of its business. Clients and participants are provided with necessary information that is required by the regulatory bodies and enables the client or participant to make informed choices about their training. The Technical Manager and Senior Technical Consultant are jointly responsible for ensuring these principles are implemented.
FEES, CHARGES AND REFUNDS
All relevant fees and charges are indicated at the commencement of a project, a Pricing Schedule is supplied and discounts available for groups are stated. Fees are charged only when the training and assessment is a fee for service operation. Fees paid in advance are protected until training and/or assessment has been successfully completed. Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd provides cost effective training and assessment services in a competitive market place.
The refund policy employed by Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd ensures that there is a range of solutions for the client to provide them with a satisfactory result to their grievance.
MARKETING
All marketing undertaken by Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd is ethical, accurate and clear using appropriate acknowledgment of National/State Recognition logos as required by the National Operational Protocol for the Marketing of Recognised Training. All marketing and promotional material is authorised by the Technical Manager and/or Senior Technical Consultant to ensure compliance with the Protocol requirements.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd commitment to continuous improvement is demonstrated by the implementation of the Continuous Improvement procedure and undertaking a program of annual reviews of the business and quality systems, the Business Plan and training and assessment materials and resources. The results of annual reviews including objectives achieved, strategies and responsibilities are documented within the minutes of meetings.
In addition, monthly meetings are used to evaluate and act upon client and participant feedback collected during training, assessment and follow-up reports. The feedback that is gathered helps guide decisions about the standards of service, business planning and objectives. The Technical Manager ensures that the feedback information is collected and available for the meetings and any changes that evolve from the comments are implemented.
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd maintains its competitive edge by ensuring that all employees, consultants and relevant staff partake in the Staff Development Program. As part of this program staff and consultants are encouraged to keep up to date of any advancements in the industry through networks, associations and attending seminars. The Technical Manager, Senior Technical Consultant and all relevant staff are responsible for the development of the individual.
REVIEW PROCEDURES
Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd undertakes to review and update all training and assessment resources on a regular basis. The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that these reviews occur. This process is facilitated by a close working relationship with the Food Industry iTAB and networks within the Food Industry Manufacturing, Hospitality/Food Service and Retail.
DOCUMENT CONTROL
The Document Control system used by Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd ensures traceability of all records and documents. It also ensures that the most recent versions of documents are in circulation and are available for relevant personnel.
NON CONFORMANCE
To ensure Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd maintains the highest standards of products and services, Non-Conformance and Corrective & Preventative Action Procedures have been implemented. The Technical Manager and Senior Technical Consultant are jointly responsible for the maintenance of this program.
This program enables Rutherford Technical Services Pty Ltd to isolate and act upon any non-conformances that occur in the operation of the business and implement relevant corrective actions and develop preventative measures to ensure the elimination and control of non-conformance. |
